Overview

Mount Vernon Christian is a member of the Washington Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) and participates in athletics as a member of the 2B/1B Northwest League. Each year, more than three-quarters of our students participate on Hurricane athletic teams, enjoying the social and physical benefits of team play. Over the years, Hurricane teams have qualified for numerous post-season tournaments and have captured league, district and State championships.

Purpose

Participation in athletics at MVC guides students toward taking delight in the gifts God has given us while we serve others and give Him the glory and pursue championships. Hurricane athletes develop physical skills, learn game and match skills and strategies, and display teamwork and sportsmanship.

Wearing a blue and white Mount Vernon Christian uniform is a privilege. MVC students and alumni have fond memories of their teams, competitions and athletic experiences while competing and the support provided from the MVC community. “Go ‘Canes!”
